Float valves

Float valves, also known as ballcocks or fill valves, are mechanical devices used in plumbing systems to control the flow of water into a tank or cistern. They consist of a hollow ball or float connected to an arm or lever mechanism. As the water level in the tank rises, the float also rises, activating the valve to shut off the incoming water supply once the desired level is reached. When the water level drops, the float lowers, allowing the valve to open and refill the tank.
